Live At The Hollywood Burl…

The Beetles! Sofia and I were on one of our weekly weekend neighborhood adventures when we were diverted because of a mire to a gazebo behind a gardening center that’s only open on weekdays. Next to the gazebo was a very large decaying sycamore log (probably 3 feet in diameter) and we pulled some of the harder exterior off and discovered a dozen or so nice shiny beetles (about an inch and 1/2 long). Since I was sans camera, I had to find this picture online. They were pretty friendly little guys with relatively large mandibles but not interested in biting us when we let them crawl up our arms.
